Youth Fishing Club volunteers needed

Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway is looking for adult volunteers to help with a couple of Youth Fishing Clubs. The Fishing Clubs are for youth ages 5 to13 interested in learning more about fishing, gear, knot tying, and environmental ethics. No fishing experience is necessary. You will be trained in all you need to know. Volunteers supervise a group of 4 to 6 kids and help them with all aspects of fishing. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a great program for youth. The Fishing Club is held for 2 hours, one day a week for six weeks. The state park is currently looking for volunteers to help staff the first session beginning June 8 through July 13. They will meet every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. If there are enough volunteers, they would like to open up a second session on Saturday mornings from June 11 to July 16 for those kids on the current waiting list. This session would also be held in the morning for two hours. Criminal background checks are required for anyone over the age of 18 working with youth. If you are interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity, please call Wendy at (435) 654-1791.
