Junior Jazz

Junior Jazz youth basketball is here. Junior Jazz basketball is offered for boys and girls in third through eighth grades. Games will be played twice a week during the week — no weekend games. The deadline to register is Dec. 4 and space is limited, so sign up today. Park City Recreation adult basketball league

Park City Recreation is taking registration for the popular adult basketball league which begins Nov. 5 and continues through February. Teams play full court, games are officiated and, of course, scores are kept. Team fee is $650 ($100 refundable forfeit fee). Call 435-615-5400 or visit http://www.parkcityrecreation.org.

Entomology

High Country Fly Fishers is having its monthly meeting Wednesday, Nov. 4, 7:30 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Church on Route 224. Steve Schmidt, a well known guide and owner of Western River Fly Shop, will be giving a presentation on entomology at a level that the average angler will understand. Ski swap

The 37th annual Park City Ski Swap and sale will kick off Friday, Nov. 6, from

8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. The swap continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $8 on Friday night, $5 on Saturday and $2 on Sunday. Kids 12 and under are free. Equipment can be dropped off Nov. 2-5 at Jans Mountain Outfitters or Cole Sport on Park Avenue, or Nov. 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

Skate for a plate

The Park City Speedskating Club is hosting a food drive/fun skate event on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please bring non-perishable food items for the local food bank in exchange for free admission. After a short speedskating demonstration, there will be participation in games and turkey relays. Bring the family! Helmet, gloves, long sleeves and long pants are required. Soup and Soldier Hollow Fundraiser The 9th annual Soup and Soldier Hollow fundraiser is Friday evening, Nov. 13, with great soups from eight of Heber Valley’s best restaurants. Soup’s on at 6 p.m., with many silent-auction items to bid on. Live auction starts at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss this popular event supporting Team Soldier Hollow.
