PCHS girls’ tennis team tryouts

Tryouts for the 2011 Park City High School girls’ tennis team are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 1, and Tuesday, Aug. 2, at The Solamere/Oaks Swim & Tennis Club (2400 Solamere Drive). The tryouts will run from noon to 3 p.m. on both days. Call head coach Lori McMahon if interested, (435) 640-8146.

HSBCAMPS returning

HSBCAMPS (Hot Shot Basketball Camps), one of America’s fastest-growing youth basketball camps, returns to Park City July 18-21. The camps are open to kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. The Park City Day Camp and Morning Clinic will offer boys and girls in the elementary, middle, and high school grades a unique chance to train one-on-one with NBA players and other select pros. The camps will be held at Park City High School. Ronnie Price of the Utah Jazz will be returning again with an expanded coaching role as well as other professional additions to the coaching staff. Through the HSBCARES fund, HSBCAMPS is able to award camp scholarships, support basketball programs for disabled and underprivileged children, and provide public schools and youth programs with vital basketball equipment to operate at the highest level. Coed 7v7 Soccer League

Don’t miss out on the action as the Park City Recreation is gearing up to start this summer’s coed 7-v-7 soccer league. Games will be played at the Park City Sports Complex on Thursday nights August 18 through October 13. This popular league fills fast. Registration ends August 11 and cost per team is $275. Mystery Mixed Doubles Tennis

Park City Tennis will be hosting its annual Mystery Mixed Doubles Social July 27 and 28. Adults of all skill levels are welcome. The cost is $15 for both evenings, with matches starting at 6 p.m. A potluck social is to be held after each evening of play concludes. Call 435-615-5436 to register or for more information.

Coed Kickball League

Remember those days on the playground? Well, Park City Recreation is bringing them back with the Coed Kickball League, and the game is much more competitive and fun than most remember. Coed teams will play at the Park City Sports Complex Wednesday nights beginning August 3 through October 5. Cost per team is $275 and the registration deadline is July 27. Space is limited. Adult Golf Clinic

The Park City Golf Course will be hosting an adult golf clinic July 19, 21, 26 and 28

Park City Sailing Demos

Park City Sailing has begun a series of Monday night Open House Sailing Demos Junior Racing and Family Barbecues. The next two are scheduled for July 25. The demo sailboat rides and racing begin at 4 p.m., and the barbecue will follow at 6 p.m. This event is open to the entire community and is free. It’s a great opportunity for children to experience a ride on a sailboat and see what Park City Sailing is all about. Scholarships are available. Moms On Bikes

Finally a chance for Park City moms to get out on a ride. Park City Recreation is hosting weekly drop-in rides that are led by moms, for moms and are for all but the most beginner riders. Rides are every Wednesday morning 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meet at the trailhead or at City Park at 9:15 a.m. for a shuttle. Rides vary every week. Learn to Skate and Play Hockey classes

Beat the heat and hit the ice at Park City Ice Arena. Get a jump start on skating and hockey skills. Classes meet twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, for three weeks on July 14, 19, and 21. Learn to Play Hockey classes are 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Learn to Skate Classes are 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Ice Arena offers skating classes for all levels, ages 3-adult. Hockey is available to those future players, ages 5 to 14, who have passed the Snowflurries Learn to Skate class in hockey skates. Park City Karate

Park City Karate will be hosting summer karate camps this summer. The four-day camps will be held July 25-28 and August 8-11. These camps will feature four days of karate, fitness, outdoor activities and even an afternoon of bowling. Campers do not have to have any karate experience to join in the fun. Park City Recreation Skate Comp Series

Don’t miss out on the action in Utah’s premier skate competition series. Park City Recreation will be hosting competitions on Saturdays: July 30, and August 20 at the Park City Skate Park. Adult 3-on-3 basketball

Park City Recreation is rounding up teams for this summer’s 3V3 basketball series. Choose one night or join in for a night out on the court. Fall soccer

Fall soccer offered by Basin Recreation and Park City Recreation is now available for registration. Players will have a great time while learning fundamentals, teamwork, making new friends in many game-type settings. Don’t miss out on the action. Divisions are designed for ages 4 years to 9th grade. Registration deadline is July 17. The season begins the week of Aug. 22 and will run until Oct. 8.
