Silver Mountain ski workshops

The Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa is offering a "Float Down Hill Ski Workshop" and a "Glide into Skate Skiing Workshop" on Dec. 3, from 1 to 3:15 p.m. and 3:15 to 5:30 p.m., at the Kimball Junction location. The "Float Down Hill Workshop" from 1 to 3:15 p.m., focuses on learning the simple ingredients for proper body usage allowing for proper ski posture. When using the body properly, ski posture becomes effortless, allowing flexibility back onto skis, increasing the energy, efficiency and fluidness, all which allow for a greater, longer, more enjoyable ski day. The "Glide into Skate Skiing Workshop" from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. focuses on improving body weight shifting throughout the ankle and leg allowing for a much greater connection to the hips and pelvis. Such subtle, but profound shifts allow people to find their glide, their timing, their flow, while increasing speed and reducing upper body effort. Each workshop costs $25 and is presented by Sharon Starika, Feldenkrais practitioner/movement educator. To preregister or for additional information contact Starika at (435) 655-1989.
