Christmas tree recycling by Park City Lacrosse

It’s time to sign up for the annual Park City Lacrosse Christmas tree recycling fundraiser. For a $25 tax-deductible donation, members of the boys’ and girls’ high school lacrosse teams will pick up your tree at your home and recycle it. Pickup dates are Saturday, Jan. 7, Sunday, Jan. 8, or Saturday, Jan. 14. Registration is online at http://www.parkcitylax.org.

Team Altitude Winter Lacrosse Camp

Team Altitude’s 2011 Winter Girls’ Lacrosse Camp is a two-day intensive camp coached by former players and coaches from Stanford, North Carolina and St. Mary’s. The "Rising Stars" camp, (4th-8th grade) is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 20, and Thursday Dec. 22, from noon to 3 p.m. The "Elite Camp" (9th-12th grade) is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 21, and Thursday, Dec. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. The two-day registration fee is $100, while one day is $65. The camps will be held at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. ZBAdventures opening

ZBAdventures is offering snowshoe rentals as well as cross-country ski demos from Salomon. ZBAdventures also has guides and Nordic instructors available. Yurt hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (435) 901-0363.

Youth Baseball Tryouts

Park City Baseball (PCB) is conducting PC Avalanche 8-14U team tryouts at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. The next tryout will be Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Avalanche teams play in one of two Salt Lake competitive leagues. All players who are interested in baseball and are committed to self-improvement and want a positive team experience are invited to try out. Park City Recreation Winter Coed Volleyball League

Park City Recreation is ready to hit it up with its coed volleyball league. Register a team and play Wednesday nights starting Jan. 4 in either the power or competitive divisions at the PC MARC (Racquet Club). Registration ends Dec. 26. Team Altitude basketball programs

Team Altitude’s competitive basketball programs are preparing to kickstart their season. There will be drop-in coed clinics for children from 3rd to 8th grade. Mom’s Power Hour

Mom’s Power Hour is a 60-minute mix of cardio, drills, strength training and core work. Little ones are welcome. This class is for new and seasoned moms, and athletes alike. Whether folks are looking to get stronger or just looking to sweat and socialize with other moms this is a great way to spend an hour. Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. The instructor is Whitney Kozlowski.

Balloon tennis class

Balloon tennis is an introductory tennis class for children ages 3 and 4 years old. It and uses tennis racquets and balloons to help children become more adept with racquet-control skills.
