According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, May 2, in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Ismael Arcos-Tellez, 31, of Midway, entered a guilty plea to violating of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor. The charges were dismissed. Disposition is May 23.

Rosa L. Garcia, 37, of Antioch, California, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class A Misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered her to serve 120 days in jail with credit for 3 days served, and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Eriberto Ramirez, 38, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to failure to disclose identity, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to serve 10 days in jail with credit for 10 days served, pay a $200 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Lugardo De Jesus Ramos, 29, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony, and impaired driving, a Class B misdemeanor. Sentencing is June 20.

Timothy Coolidge Thompson, 44, of Columbia, South Carolina, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to damage or interruption of a communication device, a Class B misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $500 fee and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Edgar A. Acosta, 23, Park City, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, and driving on a suspended license, a Class C misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $1,000 fee with credit of up to $500 for treatment, and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Kyle A. Chester, 24, of Tracy, California, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,900 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $1,900 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

James C. Christensen, 19, of Sandy, entered a guilty plea to burglary of a vehicle, a third-degree felony, and theft, a Class A Misdemeanor. Sentencing is June 20.

Gregory Adam Johns, 35, of Duchesne, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to attempted wanton destruction of protected wildlife, a Class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $750 fee, complete 20 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Michael S. Cox, 62, of Park City, entered a no contest plea to assault, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to serve five days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

David Louis Taylor, 34, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to threatening or using a dangerous weapon in a fight, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.
