According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, Sept. 26, in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

David Ramsay, 47, of Henderson, Maryland, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to pay a $4,750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Malcolm A. Smith, 27, of Vacaville, California, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to pay a $2,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Ryan Michael Weibe, 24, of Lumberton, North Carolina, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to pay a $4,750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

David R. Hixson, 35, of Heber City, was sentenced for the offense of assault, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to serve 14 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Daniel Scott Hinson, 26, of Park City, was sentenced for the offense of attempted assault against a police officer, a third-degree felony, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison for each count. Those sentences were stayed. The court imposed a 120-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to serve 120 days in jail with credit for one day served, pay a $1,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Jimmy Stillwell, 51, of Reliance, Wyoming, entered a guilty plea to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Nov. 14.

Richard Chase Kilker, 29, of Park City, entered a no-contest plea to intoxication, a class C misdemeanor. The court imposed a 90-day jail sentence and a $750 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for nine months, ordered him to pay a $300 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Anthony Francis Maganzini, 39, of Miramar Beach, Florida, entered a guilty plea to unlawful use of a financial transaction card, a class A misdemeanor, and attempted theft by deception, a class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for unlawful use of a financial transaction card and a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for attempted theft by deception. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to pay a $500 fine, complete 30 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.
