According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Jan. 11 in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Bryan Hernandez-Munguia, 19, of West Valley, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession, purchase or transfer of a firearm by a restricted person, a Class A misdemeanor, and attempted possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for each count to run concurrently. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months, and ordered him to complete 50 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Amie Trinola Yasemain Johnson, 31, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to false personal information with intent to be another person, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered her to complete 20 hours of community service, pay a $400 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Kelly Marah, 30, of Phoenix, Arizona, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony. The court ordered the defendant to pay an $8,000 fine, serve 60 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Michael Pugh, 49, of Kamas, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, and child abuse, a Class B misdemeanor. Sentencing is Feb. 29.

Kaycee Simpson, 41, of Kamas, entered a guilty plea to impaired driving, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered the defendant to complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $1,000 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Shauntel N. Brownlee, 29, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to retail theft, a third-degree felony, and assault, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine for retail theft and a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for assault to run concurrently. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months and ordered her to complete standard terms and conditions.

Claudia Chalaca-Ortiz, 41, of Park City, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $750 fee with credit of up to $600 for treatment and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Rodolfo Gutteriez-Adams, 60, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to serve 26 days in jail with credit for 26 days served and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Richard Joseph Jimenez, 67, of Heber City, entered a guilty plea to driving under the influence, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is March 7.

Paula D. Laurie, 54, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to driving under the influence, a third degree felony. Sentencing is Feb. 29.

Brandon Ray Carlson, 34, of Ammon, Idaho, entered a guilty plea to stalking, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed. The court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months and ordered him to complete standard terms and conditions.

Jonathan Hattaway, 38, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to attempted tampering with a witness or juror, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed. The court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to serve five days in jail, pay a $200 fine, complete 45 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Shane E. Foster, 42, of Park City, was sentenced for the offenses of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony, and purchase, transfer, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a one-to-15 year sentence at the Utah State Prison for possession of a controlled Substance with intent to distribute. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison for purchase, transfer, possession or use of a firearm by a restricted person. Those sentences are to run concurrently.

Ronald P. Giles, 47, of Morgan, was sentenced for the offense of violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to serve one day in jail, pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Miles Wendell Masters, 24, of Park City, was sentenced for the offenses of child abuse, a third-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine for child abuse. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $5,000 fine for criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor. Those sentences are to run concurrently. The sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 36 months, ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Ali Faek Alatawna, 23, of Holiday, entered a guilty plea to sexual battery, a Class A Misdemeanor. Sentencing is Feb. 29.
