Support art and drive away in style

Buy a membership for the Kimball Art Center and get a chance to drive a 2011 Porche Boxster for a year.

It’s that simple, said Kimball Art Center executive director Robin Marrouche.

"We sell festival-level memberships for $75 that are good for a year, and anyone who buys a membership is entered into the opportunity drawing for the vehicle," Marrouche said during an interview with The Park Record. "Winner will get an 18-month lease for the car whose market value is $67,000."

A Kimball Art Center opportunity drawing isn’t anything new, but winning a Boxster is.

"In the last several years, we’ve had opportunity drawings for cars associated with the Kimball Arts Festival, and they’ve been very popular," Marrouche said. "Last year we partnered for the first time with Strong Porche in Salt Lake. They became the official vehicle for the Kimball Art Center and support us year round, so we decided to make the opportunity drawing for this cute white Boxster this year.

The winner must have a valid driver’s license and provide insurance coverage, according the official rules at http://www.kimballartcenter.org .

"The drawing is a great way to drum up new members to the Kimball and a good way to get returning members excited about renewing their memberships, which is, ultimately the point," she said. "We have the Boxster on our patio, so people can come see it and envision themselves driving it."

New memberships and membership renewals can be done by visiting http://www.kimballartcenter.org .

"They can also be done in person at the Kimball’s front desk or by phone," Marrouche said.

An individual Kimball Art Center festival membership will feature many benefits including:

  • Admission to members-only receptions and exhibit tours
  • Use of ceramic, darkroom, painting, drawing and jewelry studios
  • A 10-percent discount on all art classes and at the Studio 6 art supply store
  • A 10-percent discount on custom framing at Peak Art and Frame
  • An opportunity to showcase art at the Members’ Pin-Up Show
  • Receiving special offers, monthly e-newsletters and printed mailers
  • A 15-percent discount on coffee drinks at the Park City Coffee Roasters in the Kimball Art Center.

A family festival membership is also available for $150, Marrouche said.

"If someone buys that, they get two tickets for the drawing," she said. "Also, people can buy multiple memberships and assign them to another family member or members, neighbors, clients or friends, to up their chance of winning the Boxster."

In addition, the Kimball will honor early renewals for the drawing as well.

"If someone’s membership expires next May, they can renew early and be eligible for the drawing," Marrouche said. "There is no limit on how far in advance they can renew their Kimball Art Center membership."
