National Ability Center
Join the National Ability Center at a monthly orientation to learn more about volunteer roles within aquatics, military groups, sled hockey, equestrian, archery and skiing/snowboarding. Get started at a general volunteer orientation – held the third Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 1000 Ability Way, Park City. Some programs require further training. Friends of Animals
Friends of Animals Utah is looking for volunteers to help furry friends waiting for adoption. The local nonprofit needs people to walk dogs, socialize with the animals, and assist with pet care and cleanup. After-school literacy program
Spend an afternoon helping a student with reading, writing or homework in a zany, fun, safe and synapse-firing environment. The Mega-Genius Supply Store and IQ HQ (435 Swede Alley), a free after-school literacy program, needs volunteer tutors to help children find that inner genius. The center is open after school for students in grades one through 12, Monday through Thursday (and Fridays, by appointment). The Egyptian Theatre is always in need of volunteers to help as ushers, ticket takers, concessions, and for private events. This is a great way to see the weekly shows for free. Promoting Low Carbon Diet
Park City Municipal Corp. is seeking teen and adult volunteers to promote the Low Carbon Diet program, a city-sponsored initiative that involves education, outreach, and action on the part of greater Park City to reduce its carbon footprint and ultimately Save Our Snow! People’s Health Clinic
The People’s Health Clinic is looking for medical professionals and interpreters. If you are a doctor, nurse, PA, MA, phlebotomist, even a retired medical provider, or can translate Spanish, your skills and compassion can be put to immediate use. Volunteers are needed to help staff Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday clinics anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. As much or little time as you can give, weekly, monthly, sporadically, is appreciated. The Wildlife Protection Society is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people who love animals to fill some key positions in its nonprofit organization. Join as a committee member in family services, construction programs, faith relations, or events. Other volunteer opportunities include participating in team build days on a construction site, data entry, office assistance, and helping with community-outreach activities.
