Park City and Summit County filmmakers and multi-media artists are invited to submit their works for the Seventh Annual Filmmakers' Showcase presented by the Park City Film Series. Boarding for Breast Cancer Event

A Boarding for Breast Cancer event will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, 1456 Newpark Blvd., in Newpark, from 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. The night, which will feature a premiere of Never Summer's new snowboarding film "Days of Chunder" and autograph sessions from Never Summer-sponsored professional snowboard riders, is free for all ages. The schedule will include opportunity drawings and a silent auction to raise funds for breast cancer research. Little Naturalist Program at the Swaner EcoCenter

Afterwards, the children will participate in a matching game of the seasons and make fall colored leaves so they can learn how to classify leaves based on shape. Friends of Park City Library's Author Luncheon Gerald Elias, retired associate concertmaster of the Utah Symphony and author of mystery books set in the classical music world, will be the featured speaker at the Friends of the Park City Library's annual Author Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The luncheon will be at Deer Valley's Silver Lake Lodge, starting at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are being sold at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., and are $40. Tickets are $35 if purchased from a Friends member. Tables of 10 are available for $350. Elias' books will be for sale at the luncheon courtesy of Dolly's Bookstore and can be signed by the author.
