The Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Dr. at Kimball Junction, will host an avalanche awareness talk on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. The Utah Avalanche Center will present a discussion about the dangers of avalanches. Park City Film Series: 'Kumaré'

The Park City Film Series will screen Vikram Gandhi's "Kumaré," not rated, at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library and Education Center, 1255 Park Avenue. Screenings will be Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7, and Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. "Kumaré is the invention of filmmaker Vikram Gandhi, a first-generation New Yorker fascinated by the way many Americans are drawn to the perceived mysticism of the East. Gandhi travels to Arizona to re-create himself as the new prophet in town, hoping to prove the absurdity of blind faith. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens.
