Concerts at Sundance featuring local and international artists kicks off on Friday, Jan. 17, with an all ages show at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City.

The Park City concerts will be held each evening beginning Saturday, Jan. 18, and run through Jan. 24, Concerts at Sundance will present performances from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hotel Park City.

Proceeds of all ticket sales will support the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

The second annual Concerts at Sundance has three goals.

  • To raise awareness for cancer research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

  • To expose independent musicians to industry insiders.

  • To provide the public reasonable priced and free concerts

"We all know so many people who have been touched by cancer," said producer Stephanie DeGraw, president of Power Media Entertainment. "I am a survivor of two forms of cancer in my life. My grandfather died from pancreatic cancer and this year my stepfather is fighting cancer."

DeGraw wants to make a difference and help in the fight to find a cure by raising money and awareness.

"We can't become complacent. We need to be vigilant in raising that money to find a cure for cancer," she said.

DeGraw wanted to create showcases where artists could perform for music supervisors, film directors and entertainment industry types who attend the film festival.

"I also wanted the concerts to be more affordable for the public to attend," she said.

One of the success stories of the last year has been Sacha Delone of SuperGlam, who was invited to not only perform more during the festival by other promoters, but landed international gigs he would not have gotten had he not been at the concert series.

Delone made the trek to Park City from Belgium.

"We have such a high caliber of artists that join us each year, and there is a style to fit everyone's tastes," DeGraw said. "There were 2,338 entries from around the world. It's been really interesting reviewing all the talented musicians. We judged them on talent, showmanship, fans and appeal to audiences."

Concerts at Sundance is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Sundance Film Festival.
