The Park City Police Department last week responded to a series of complaints about bicyclists using the skate park at City Park, something that is prohibited.

The Police Department occasionally receives reports of bicyclists in the skate park, but the there was a concentration of calls last week.

The cases included:

  • on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2:57 p.m., several bicyclists were spotted in the skate park. They were warned not to ride there and they left, the police said.

  • on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4:20 p.m., a bicyclist was reported to be in the skate park. The police warned the person not to ride in the park.

  • on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2:20 p.m., three or four youngsters were spotted on bicycles at the skate park.

  • on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 12:03 p.m., bicyclists were reported in the skate park.

    Bicyclists are not allowed to use the skate park. Officials say bicyclists pose a danger to skaterboarders and in-line skaters who are allowed in the park. They also say the bicycles could damage the surface of the park.

    People riding bicycles, though, are sometimes seen in the park. The police usually order them to leave if they are found there.
