Park City in the days after the Sunday closing of the Sundance Film Festival will reopen parking spaces and athletic facilities that have been closed or heavily restricted during the festival.

The openings will include parking spots on or close to Main Street and several places inside the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center.

The Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center will reopen the areas closed for the Sundance Film Festival starting on Tuesday.

Tennis court #4, which was turned into the waiting area for the screening room at the facility, known as the MARC Theatre, is scheduled to open again as a tennis court at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The gymnasium, where the screening room itself is located, reopens at noon on Wednesday. The gymnasium houses the basketball court.

The rest of the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center is open as normal through the weekend.

Sundance organizers turn the gymnasium into the 550-seat MARC Theatre. The capacity is second only to the 1,270-seat Eccles Center among the Park City-area screening rooms.

Parking restrictions, meanwhile, will be lifted starting on Sunday.

Drivers headed to Old Town will be able to park on Main Street again starting Sunday morning.

There have been tight parking restrictions on both sides of Main Street since the opening of the Sundance Film Festival. The restrictions are meant to keep traffic flowing more easily on highly congested Main Street.

City Hall anticipates the parking on Main Street will be available again by 8 a.m. on Sunday. Paid parking will be in effect that day.

The paid parking for Sundance in parts of the China Bridge garage and on Swede Alley ends on Sunday morning. Normal time limits will be in effect.

Park City on Sunday morning will remove the barricades outside Sundance venues along Main Street.
