The Park City Police Department last week observed or received reports about dogs off leash, as people headed outside with their pets in the nice weather.
Dogs are required to be on leashes inside the city limits. The dog park at Quinn's Junction is an off-leash area. Leash-law violations in Park City are commonplace, though.
Some of the cases last week included: on Sunday, June 1, a dog was seen off a leash in the vicinity of the Rail Trail and Prospector Avenue at 10:34 a.m. Earlier in the day, at 7:58 a.m., the police received a report of a dog running loose in the Old Town roundabout. on Saturday, May 31, a dog was seen off a leash on the 1300 block of Sullivan Road at 9:37 a.m. The owner was warned. on Thursday, May 29, a dog was seen off a leash on the 1300 block of Sullivan Road at 8:33 a.m. on Monday, May 26 at 6:33 p.m., a dog was seen off a leash on the 1300 block of Sullivan Road. Earlier that day, at 4:30 p.m., a dog was seen off leash on the same block. At 3:05 p.m., meanwhile, the police received a report that a dog was locked in a vehicle on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue. The person who contacted the police indicated the dog was in distress.
