A teenager riding a motorcycle crashed into a house in Prospector on Sunday, the Park City Police Department said.

The 17-year-old lives in Summit County. He was riding a borrowed KTM model motorcycle. Phil Kirk, a police captain, said the teen was riding on Little Bessie Avenue when the brakes locked. He went through the Monarch Drive intersection and collided with a house on Monarch Drive, Kirk said. The Police Department said in an online statement the teen was riding "at a high rate of speed along the public roadway." The accident was reported at 2:48 p.m.

Kirk said a pillar next to the garage, siding on the house and a railroad tie in the front yard were damaged in the accident. The damage is estimated at several thousand dollars, he said. The teen went through the front yard of the house before the collision, Kirk said.

The teen's parents took him to Park City Medical Center with an unspecified leg injury, Kirk said.

The Police Department is continuing to investigate the accident.
