Park City Community Foundation, after a nationwide search, selected Katie Wright as its new executive director. Wright, who has been with the organization for more than six and a half years, has spearheaded over $5 million of investment in Summit County, Utah, through several successful programs including Save Our Snow II, Live PC Give PC, Milepost, the Community Fund grant program, continuing education for nonprofits, and most recently the Women's Giving Fund endowment.
According to Jack Mueller, the board chair, they chose Wright because, "She has deep community foundation experience and has demonstrated a commitment to the nonprofit sector throughout her career. Additionally, she has an incredible level of trust in our community, particularly with local nonprofit organizations."
Wright, who first worked for a community foundation outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a returned Peace Corps volunteer and has a master's in public administration with a focus on nonprofit management.
"What I love about community foundations," says Wright, "is that they engage the entire community in giving. We've demonstrated, through Live PC Give PC and the Women's Giving Fund, that there is a seat at the philanthropic table for everyone in Park City."
In the coming years, PCCF is interested in becoming active in social-impact investing. "Across the country donors and nonprofits are using new giving vehicles, like social-impact loans, to achieve long-term community gains.
Founded in 2007, PCCF has achieved significant milestones. Last fall PCCF was confirmed in compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, and the organization has an active board of over 20 dedicated individuals, strong financial reserves, and over $7 million in assets (these include nonprofit endowments, donor advised funds, scholarship funds, and more). PCCF's mission is to strengthen and unite the Park City community by identifying needs, giving, supporting, and connecting our community.
The organization is currently hiring for two positions: a full-time programs manager and a part-time financial administrator. Both positions work closely with local donors and nonprofits and help facilitate giving in Summit County, Utah.
