The attorney for Talisker Land Holdings, LLC, said in court, Wednesday, it wants a bond set at $123.9 million to allow Park City Mountain Resort to continue using the land it leases on the upper mountain for the 2014-15 ski season. In previous legal filings PCMR valued the bond at between $1.02 million and $6.56 million. The bond would allow PCMR to stay ob the land while it appeals the case.

It will be up to Third District Court Judge Ryan Harris to determine the amount of the bond. Harris has said, in view of the uncertainty about the ski area operations for the coming ski season, he will try to rule on the matter as soon as possible.

The courtroom at the Silver Summit Justice Center was packed on Wednesday. Audience members included City Hall and County Courthouse officials along with representatives from PCMR and various local businesses.

In the meantime, PCMR and Talisker are in mediation in hopes of crafting an agreement to settle the case. The court-mandated deadline for that agreement has been extended to Friday.
