The event will be held at Park City Dance Academy, 6554 N. Creekside Ln.. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
"Last month, we danced until people wanted to go home," said club president and instructor Cindy Rae. "I think we ended around 11 p.m., but it was fun."
Rae said socials are becoming a tradition.
"We had one in June and one in July and everyone wanted to something again," Rae said during an interview with The Park Record. "We had 15 or 20 people come the first time and had a little more the second, so we hope there will be more this time."
Rae's dancers wanted her to host the event.
"They told me they just wanted to dance," she said. "So, that's what we're going to do."
Anyone is invited to attend.
"We urge the club to invite their friends, neighbors, acquaintances and strangers to come celebrate with us," Rae said.
Those that attend can bring a dish of food or other refreshments, but those things aren't required.
"They can bring other drinks if they don't want to have any of my water," Rae said with a smile. "Last time we had a lot of food because everyone brought something."
She is still trying to figure out how to bring a little more atmosphere to the venue.
"The lights don't dim and there are no mirror balls," Rae laughed. "There are no strobe lights or colored lights, but it's still a fun time."
Admission is $5 and an RSVP is not necessary.
"I'll be there and all people need to do is show up," Rae said. "The money is just so we can pay the rent."
The music will be provided by Rae, unless people want to bring their own or put in a request via email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
"I told them if they have ideas for music, they can tell me, otherwise I'll just put on some different music all night long," she said.
Rae said most of those who will be in attendance are beginning dancers.
"They know a few steps, but this gives them exposure to music and allows them to dance the steps they do know and get more comfortable, and get better and better," she said. "There isn't any stress or cause to be intimidated.
"If you've never danced before, this is a perfect event to attend," Rae said. "They can come dance even if they can't, because it's just about having fun, and the more you move around the floor, the better you do the next time.
"Also, I'll dance with them. I tell people that I'd rather dance with someone who doesn't know how to dance than to not dance," she said.
The Park City Dance Club will hold a social on Wednesday, Aug. 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Park City Dance Academy, 6554 N. Creekside Ln. Admission is $5. For more information, email email@example.com .
