The sixth annual Monster Ball will be held at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, located at Kimball Junction, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. The event is designed for kids in middle school and will feature music, costume contests with prizes donated by Ramp Sports, Rossignol and Skullcandy. The Kamas Theater, 30 N. Main in Kamas, will present "Dracula, the Musical" through Nov. 2, except on Sundays. The performances on Monday through Thursday will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 8 p.m. and there will be Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. "Dracula, the Musical" is based on Bram Stoker's timeless horror story with libretto written by John Cobb and music by composer Karrol Cobb, who will play the music live. The musical stars Tim Peay as Jonathon Harker and Michael Larsen as the evil nemesis, Dracula. Tickets cost $9 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens and $6 for children ages 11 and younger. Celebrate the Spirits with Basin Recreation on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Newpark Plaza from noon until 3 p.m. The event will include costumed 10K, 5K, and 1-mile trick-or-treat runs with candy stations sponsored by local businesses along the way.
