Submissions for the Eighth Annual Filmmakers Showcase
The eighth annual Filmmakers Showcase is accepting submissions. Park City- and Summit County-based filmmakers and multimedia artists are encouraged to submit their films to showcase director Jill Orschel by Monday, Nov. 4. RAMP Bamboozle Art Show
RAMP Sports Factory, 6407 Business Park Loop Rd., will host a free Bamboozle Art Show on Saturday, Nov. 2, beginning at 3 p.m. In addition to the art by artists Josee Nadeau, Nick Grant, Jeremy Thomley, Daniel Bell, Micah Goddard, Zane DeKoff, Kathy Cartier and more, the event will feature live music by the Codi Jordan Band and Marinade. Auditions: TEDx Youth Park City
Park City Institute is holding auditions for TEDx Youth Park City speakers on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at The Eccles Center at 3:30 p.m. Middle school and high school students are invited to come with "an idea worth sharing." In accordance with TEDx parameters, the "Talks" must be 5 to 15 minutes in length and cannot be religious, political or self-serving.
Park City Film Series Books 2 Movies: "Hunger Games"
The Park City Film Series Books 2 Movies program will present a free screening of Gary Ross' "Hunger Games," rated PG-13, at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library and Education Center, 1255 Park Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. Based on the popular young-adult novel by Suzanne Collins, "Hunger Games" is about a dystopian future where two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight in a televised death match. Basic Judaism Course: Judaism 101 at Temple Har Shalom
The Temple Har Shalom, 3700 Brookside Ct., will offer basic Judaism courses, beginning with Judaism 101, that will be held every Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. through Dec. 18. The course is free and open to the public.
'The Story' at St. John's Anglican Church
St. John's Anglican Church, 2024 Sidewinder Drive in Park City, is using a resource titled "The Story", published by Zondervan Publishing, in its upcoming study groups. "The Story" consists of 31 chapters of scriptures sequenced in chronological order, presented in an engaging format. Each study session includes a brief video followed by group discussion of the scriptures read.
