One of the highlights of the Skiing History Week in Park City that will run

from Monday, March 31, through Sunday, April 6, is the free screenings of classic ski

films during the Ishpeming International Film Fest.

These films will be screened at the Prospector Square Theater, 2200 Sidewinder Dr.,

from Tuesday, April 1, through Friday, April 4, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Among them are five joining the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame's top Ski

"Rivals: Anatomy of the Downhill;" Mike Marvin's "Hot Dog, The Movie" and Teton

Gravity Research's "Continuum."

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, which is located in Michigan, sends out

representatives to resort towns that are celebrating significant, historic winter-sports

events, according to Matt Gebo, director of marketing for Park City Mountain Resort,

which is in the midst of its 50th anniversary.

The films will be inducted and the filmmakers honored at the Jerry Awards on

Wednesday, April 2, at 8 p.m. The ceremony is also free and open to the public.

Clips from the films will be shown and filmmakers will be on hand to receive their

awards. Some of the filmmakers who will be in attendance will include Joe Jay Jalbert of

Jalbert Production, Greg Sump of Greg Stump Productions, Steve Todd of Teton Gravity
