Olympian Tiger Shaw took over as president and CEO of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association effective March 3 as part of a long-planned transition, USSA Chairman Dexter Paine announced.
Shaw was named chief operating officer last fall.
"The Best in the World vision established under Bill Marolt's leadership has aided our athletes in achieving their dreams," Shaw said. "It's an honor to follow in Bill's footsteps and continue that vision into the future. My last five months working with Bill have been inspirational and educational, getting to know the organization and each of its sport programs. We have an amazing management team and staff in place and I look forward to the challenge of leading the USSA."
Former CEO Bill Marolt led the organization to its greatest athletic achievements in history. He will continue as an advisor to the chairman, working specifically as a board member of the International Ski Federation, U.S. Olympic Committee and 2015 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, as well as supporting the USSA in a fundraising role.
