Miners win region golf tourney

Submitted by George MurphyIn its first region tournament of the season Thursday in Salt Lake City, the Park City Miners girls' golf team took first place by 15 strokes over Uintah and 19 strokes over Morgan. The Miners had six players in the top 10.

Justine Connell of Juan Diego had the top individual score (80), followed by Nicole Begay of Uintah (81). PCHS senior Abbie Briscoe led the way for the Miners, followed closely by freshman Saylor Raybe. Also finishing in the top 10 for Park City were Sam Tan, Sarah Marshall, Catherine Cunningham and Maggie Hale.
