Learn to Swim at Silver Mountain

Youth swim lessons at Silver Mountain Sports Club are offered throughout the summer. The second session begins on Monday, June 24, and is open to the public. There are eight half-hour lessons in each session with one instructor for every four children. Start of Summer at Basin Rec

Join Basin Recreation for the first Start of Summer event on Saturday, June 29, at Trailside Park. A 5K color run, a 1-mile run, and a 100-yard dash will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A free "Kids Karnival" will run from noon to 2 p.m. Enjoy bounce houses, sprinklers, and kids’ games in the summer sun. Cost for the fun run is $25 per person or $45 per family. All pre-registered runners receive a Fun Run T-shirt designed by 12-year-old Kira Sincock. Register before June 21 to avoid a $5 late fee. Dog Obedience Classes at the PC MARC

Certified local dog trainer Heather Hampsten will teach Puppy, Basic and Intermediate classes on Tuesdays, June 25-July 30. Classes are for adults over 16 and their dogs. Power 2 Hour Challenge

With two hours on the clock, the Power2Hour Challenge is a different way to 10K in one central location. Participants check off a 10K run at Trailside Park, broken up by multiple body-weight drills, field exercises and resistance intervals over a two-hour duration. This challenge is suitable for the avid athlete and eager fitness newcomer. Registration costs $22. The race starts at 7 a.m. on June 22. Summer Skate Series

Park City Recreation presents Utah’s premier skate competition series at the Park City Skate Park. The first competition will be held June 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with more to follow throughout the summer. Six divisions cater to all levels of skaters, and there are great prizes. FITT Workshop at PC MARC

The FITT Workshop (Fitness, Injury prevention, Tennis technology & Technique) is all about fun, tennis, education and a whole-body workout. Learn what your weaknesses are, where they are exposed in your game, and how to strengthen them. Each participant will receive an injury prevention screening, movement analysis, movement training, tennis cardio/strengthening drills, and leave with a personalized tennis program (dynamic warm up, conditioning and cool down). The workshop sizes are limited to eight people (to maximize individual attention). They last session will be held June 25, 6-8 p.m. at the PC MARC. The cost is $60. Intro to Lacrosse

Basin Recreation is partnering with Team Altitude for an introduction to lacrosse program (two sessions) on June 24-28 at Ecker Hill and Aug. 5-9 at Trailside Park. The clinic will run 9-11 a.m. each day. First through third graders will learn the fundamentals of the game and be provided with sticks and eye protection for practice. Cost is $55 per week. Park City Junior Golf Camps

Soldier Hollow Youth Adventure Camp

Calling all children ages 8-10: It’s time to sign up for the Soldier Hollow Youth Adventure Camp. The camp, which features biathlons, hiking, games, swimming, indoor rock climbing, a ropes course, agility events and more, will have one more session this summer: July 8-10. Couples League at PC Golf Club

The Couples League, for beginning to advanced golfers, is new for 2013 at the Park City Golf Club. Handicaps are not used and you do not have to be a member of the UGA. Swim Lessons at Silver Mountain

Silver Mountain Sports Club is now accepting registrations for youth summer swim lessons and swim team. Morning, evening and Saturday lessons are available. The program continues through Aug. 15. There are eight half-hour swim lessons per two-week session and one instructor for every four kids. Nonmembers are welcome and summer memberships are available. Summer Junior Tennis Camp

Aquafit at the PC MARC

Instructors at the PC MARC will offer a great cardio and water resistance-based workout at the PC MARC leisure pool. Classes will be held Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. All levels and ages 16 and over are welcome. Skateboard Camp at Park City Skate Park

Park City Recreation has the area’s best skaters teaching children to skate this summer. Helmets and pads are required with equipment available upon request. Weekly morning sessions (Monday through Thursday) have begun, with classes for all levels including beginners only. Private and semi-private lessons are available. Mini Tennis Camp at PC MARC

For ages 3 to 7, Mini Camp at the PC MARC started June 1 with the first of three summer sessions. The first session runs through June 29; the second session runs July 1 to Aug. 3 and the third session runs Aug. 5 to 24. Camp is held Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Tuesday or Thursday, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Fee is $11 per class. For registration, visit ParkCityRecreation.org or call 435-615-5400.

Youth Football Camp

Calling all youth football players ages 8-14. Back by popular demand, it’s summer football camp. Aaron Alford, a former University of Utah football coach, and Park City Youth Football are joining forces to teach youth players the basic fundamentals of football. The camp will be held July 1-2, 9-11:30 a.m., at Treasure Mountain Junior High School. Walk-up registration is 8-9 a.m. on July 1. This camp has historically sold out quickly. Please show up with cleats and water (no-pads camp). The cost: $30 for the first child, $20 for each additional child.

Fieldhouse Summer Pass Sale

Stay fit this summer at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. All three-month passes are on sale through June 30: $80/individual, $145/couple, $70/senior, and $70/student with a valid ID. Fitness passes grant access to the gym, weight room, and indoor track. Fitness class add-ons are also available. 35th Annual Soccer Camps

Coach Randy Farris returns to offer a camp for soccer skill development with fun games, challenges, scrimmages and competitions for kids ages 7 to 15. Upcoming camp dates are June 24-28 (deadline June 20) and July 8-12 (deadline July 3). Morning session is $85 and full day is $160. Adventure Camp

Park City Recreation offers a challenging all-day adventure camp for ages 9-14 this summer with six Monday-through-Friday sessions. Summer Day Camp

Park City Recreation’s professional staff will guide your child age 6-12 through exciting summer days filled with sports, games, arts & crafts and field trips. Youth/Adult Dirt Jump Camps

Park City Recreation will hold youth and adult dirt jump camps and clinics throughout the summer at the Park City Dirt Jump Park. Dirt jump instructors will help riders advance in the sport of progressive mountain biking. Sessions are an hour a day for three days, Monday-Wednesday. Drop-in Ping Pong
