PCHS Boys’ Golf Meeting

There will be a boys’ golf meeting on Friday, March 21, at 2:45 p.m. at Park City High School in Coach Murphy’s room (#127). This meeting is for all boys that will be in grades 9 through 12 at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year. We will discuss tryouts, spring league and summer opportunities. Guided Snowshoe Hike

Explore Basin Recreation’s winter trail system with the last free guided snowshoe hike of the season on Saturday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. in Summit Park. Meet in the No Worries Café parking lot. Hikes last one to two hours. Snowshoes are recommended and be sure to pack plenty of water! Axis Freeskiing All Girls Camp

Calling all girls come to Axis Freeskiing’s All Girls Camp at Park City Mountain Resort! The camp is a fun-filled learning environment catering to girls, focusing on terrain park and all-mountain skis, this introductory camp is the perfect way to spend your weekend! The camp is for girls ages 9 and up who are intermediate and-up skiers. No terrain park skills are needed. Spring Break Kids Camp

Join Park City Recreation for a Spring Break Kids Camp from April 14-18. Open to children ages 6-12, the camp provides children with a whirlwind week of fun, featuring arts and crafts, games, bouldering and off-site adventures like a visit to the library, swimming and playing in the parks. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the City Park Building. The cost is $185 for the week and the registration deadline is April 10.

Basin Rec Youth Crew

The Basin Recreation Youth Crew is blasting down to Laser Quest for a March Mix-Up on Saturday, March 22, from 12 to 4:45 p.m. Drop-off and pickup are at the Trailside Park Room (5715 Trailside Drive). Books and Skating at PC Ice Arena

The Park City Ice Arena and the Park City Library are teaming up to bring you Story Time and Small & Tall classes under one roof! Class began March 14 and includes a 20-minute story time followed by a 30-minute ice skating lesson. This program is designed for pre-school aged children and an accompanying adult. Class is 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Fridays. Call the front desk to register at 435-615-5707.

Playin’ the Basin Way

Basin Recreation is holding open field time for those in the adaptive (physical, mental or other limitation) populations and their siblings on Saturday, March 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Fieldhouse. Start Smart Soccer

This parent/child program prepares children for organized soccer in a fun environment. A variety of skills are taught, including dribbling, kicking, passing, trapping, agility and throw-ins. A parent must be present each week to work one-on-one with their child, ages three to five. Youth Karate at the PC MARC

Park City Recreation’s next session of Youth Karate at the PC MARC is April 21 to June 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays for Tiny Tigers (ages 4-6) and Ninjas (beginners). Class times are 3:45-4:30 p.m. for Tiny Tigers and 4:30-5:30 p.m. for Ninjas. Children will build confidence, self-discipline and fitness that will have a positive, lasting effect. Dog Obedience Classes at the PC MARC

Certified local dog trainer Heather Hampsten will teach Puppy, Basic and Intermediate classes on Tuesdays until April 8 at the City Park Recreation Building. Classes are for adults over 16 and their dogs. Puppy class is at 6 p.m., Basic is at 7 p.m. and Intermediate is at 8 p.m. The fee is $75. Coed 7v7 Soccer League

Grab some friends, family or co-workers ages 18 and up and join the match in this coed soccer league. Games are played on artificial turf under the lights at the Park City Sports Complex at Quinn’s Junction from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays, April 17 to June 19. There is a $325 fee per team. Spring Youth Soccer

Spring Youth Soccer for ages four and up will be held April 2 to June 7 on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Park City Sports Complex at Quinn’s Junction. Third Annual Celebrity Smile Ski Challenge

Operation Smile is hosting its third annual Park City Celebrity Smile Ski Challenge on Saturday, March 15, to raise funds and awareness for children around the world suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. Teams of six racers consisting of one celebrity skier, one professional skier and four amateur skiers/Operation Smile donors will compete in a friendly challenge on the slopes of Canyons Resort to raise funds for the organization. The team with the best overall time will be recognized during an award luncheon directly following the race. Actress Kate Walsh, Access Hollywood host Billy Bush, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke, and Stephanie Argyros, Krista Jajonie and Daneia Sanadiki of "Three Moms on a Mission," are all scheduled to participate. The Challenge is scheduled to begin at noon, with a luncheon and awards ceremony to follow at 2 p.m.

Youth Soccer Academy

The Park City Soccer Club is holding its annual Spring Soccer Academy for kids ages 7-10. The academy curriculum is based on fun, dynamic and age-appropriate training sessions to enhance technical skills. The academy is open to all skill levels and is a great way to be active and get ready for spring recreational soccer. It meets on Wednesday and Fridays from Feb. 5 to May 16. Players may choose one or two days per week to participate. The cost is $140 for one day or $275 for two days per week. Players may join at any time and will pay a prorated price after the first two weeks. Speed Bag Training at PC MARC

The PC MARC is now offering speed-bag training with private instruction. Speed-bag training offers a phenomenal cardio workout while improving strength, hand-eye coordination, self esteem and confidence. Basin Rec Golf Simulator

Don’t lose your golf swing over the long winter months. Take advantage of the golf simulator at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse and schedule your one-hour tee time on Tuesday or Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Play a variety of courses throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia and improve your golf game. Snowmobile Education Courses

State-required youth snowmobile-education courses are available online at ohv.utah.gov. Utah law requires youths ages 8 to 16 to complete a Utah State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Education Course before operating a machine on public lands or trails. Anyone over age 16 without a valid driver’s license must also complete the course to legally operate an OHV on public land. Course fees are $30 and, upon successful completion of coursework, students can print temporary certificates and later receive permanent certificates by mail. Noon Drop-In Basketball at the PC MARC

Pickleball at the PC MARC

One of the fastest-growing sports in America, pickleball is now offered at the PC MARC. This popular, fun sport has simple rules and lots of action. Racquet sport enthusiasts and newcomers are welcome to play on the MARC’s three indoor pickleball courts Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $3 per player. Barre Classes at the PC MARC

New to the MARC: Strengthen your core and increase flexibility with a unique workout using the ballet barre along with other fitness equipment. "Barre Fit" is Tuesday and Thursday at noon, and "Barre Tone" is Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Daily class rates apply or included in class pass. Primal Move at Silver Mountain

Primal Move is not your typical gym workout. It is a hot new fitness trend that brings back the playful side of exercise. There is purpose, direction, and a primary goal to move and feel better when you leave than when you arrived. It’s perfect for athletes who want to prevent injuries or anyone wanting to improve balance and flexibility. Silver Mountain Sports Club offers Primal Move classes at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in Prospector Park through certified personal trainer Kevin Rail.
