The Sunrise Lodge, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, opened last week, joining the ranks alongside other properties such as the Hyatt Escala, Westgate Resorts and the Waldorf Astoria in the area.
The Sunrise Lodge is the third Hilton property to open in Park City, which also includes the Hampton Inn and the Waldorf Astoria, both branches of the Hilton brand.
"I think obviously bringing another Hilton property into the area gives us even greater exposure," said Rafe Sykes, the Hilton Grand Vacations Club General Manager of the Rock Mountain Region. "We are glad to bring a club to another ski destination. We have had great success with this brand in Breckenridge, which is very popular with owners. And we have been looking for another destination in a ski town for a long time. Park City was a great place to do this."
Kevin Fogarty, the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hilton Grand Vacations Club, added to that thought.
"I have been in this market for a long time," he said, "and it is just really cool to be part of the rebranding Talisker has done to this area."
The hotel and condominium project was originally completed in June 2009, dubbed the 'Sunrise at Escala,' but the property never came online.
Since then, the investment firm called Centerbridge Capital Partners has partnered with Hilton to rebrand the hotel and vacation ownership property. Primarily serving as a hotel space this season, the resort hopes to sell vacation rentals as winter vacationers arrive, taking in its first guests in the property's history this week.
The Hilton Grand Vacations Club consists of 83 rooms comprised of sizes ranging between studios and four-bedrooms, a total of 154 keys. Before opening, Hilton heavily invested in furbishing the space, including a complete build out of a new sales area. Amenities include a pool and hot tub area, a fitness center, ski valet service and shuttle service. Hilton hopes to continue to add to amenities in the space, with projects in the works as the ski season continues.
"We've looked at a number of things to improve on what we are already offering," Sykes said. "We need to see how business goes, but there are more good ideas in the works."
Prices for the vacation ownership packaged range $9,000 to $100,000 depending on what price point and availability owners are looking for, from a four-bedroom guaranteed over Christmas to a weekend getaway.
