The Park City Board of Realtors recognized its top-performers from 2012 Thursday night during their 33rd anniversary event.
To celebrate the anniversary and the top home sellers, the "Blue Jeans and Bling" party was held at the Montage Deer Valley.
Kicking off the gala - the group's board presented 60-members of the Board of Realtors with the Professional Achievement and Masters and Sustaining Masters Achievement Award.
The award recognizes those in the real estate industry that go above and beyond in their commitment to the profession. While this award recognizes production, it also highlights the importance of the board and community involvement, according to Curt Singleton, Park City Board of Realtors chief executive officer.
Immediately following the achievement awards, Jeff Spencer, from Resorts West Real Estate and board president, presented the board's specialty awards for 2012, which include: Community Service, Meritorious Service, Directors Award, Affiliate of the Year and Realtor of the Year.
The Community Service Award was presented to the Christian Center of Park City.
Over the last 12 years, the Christian Center has started a multitude of programs designed to help Summit County and Wasatch County residents secure the resources they need to survive - as well as engaging the hundreds of volunteers needed to donate thousands of hours in community service.
In order to do so, the group started the largest food pantry in the two counties, a thrift store, boutique shop, pet food pantry for low-income pet owners, a weekly dinner for international seasonal workers, special programs reaching Native American communities, offering a free legal clinic as well as leveraging the $12 million in food and household supplies.
"The community has been so generous and supportive of our cause," Rob Harter, Executive Director at the Christian Center, said. "I feel like the luckiest guy to have the opportunity to work with the staff and the hard work they provide to enable us the opportunity to offer all of the community services programs we have."
The late Lois Hall, who represented First American Title, was awarded the Affiliate of the Year award. Her daughter, Samantha, and husband Dan Hall accepted the award on her behalf.
The affiliate award, also known as the Leroy J Pia Award, recognizes an affiliate member that has given outstanding service and support to the association's members through their business and participation in the board.
According to Singleton, the highpoint of the event was when Sandra Vogt, Keller Williams Real Estate, was presented with the night's top honor - Realtor of the Year.
"Every year the board selects an active member who best exemplifies and promotes a positive image through the highest levels of service within the real estate profession and local community," Singleton said.
Serving on the Park City Board of Realtors Luxury Home Tour and Auction since 2000 and having chaired the committee since 2005, Vogt earned this honor said Singleton.
"Under Sandra's leadership, the Luxury Home Tour and Auction has raised many hundreds of thousands of dollars benefiting Park City's Peace House, an abused woman's shelter," Singleton said. "Her tireless effort and achievement have been impressive to say the least."
Vogt started her real estate career in 1981 in Texas. As a broker in 1999, a client offered to move her to Park City to market 500 residential subdivisions. After completing that project, she decided to continue into the private sector of Park City real estate.
Since arriving in Park City - Vogt has made her mark.
With her arrival, Vogt founded the first Park City Kiwanis Club. From 2003 until 2010, she was a member and then President of the Egyptian Theatre, Park City Key Club sponsor and graduate of Leadership of Park City.
Additionally, she has served as a member of the Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation, and she has received the board's Professional Achievement, Masters of Professional Achievement and Sustaining Masters of Professional Achievement awards.
