Meisha Lawson of Meisha Lawson Marketing Services has been working with the HPCA to initiate this monthly contest, whose first month began on Aug. 20 and will conclude at the end of September.
"We wanted to make it really easy for people to participate, so we set up an application on Facebook," said Lawson. "You can also just hashtag Historic PC (#HistoricPC) on Twitter and Instagram, because all of the images feed into the gallery making it easy to view the submissions we have received."
A winner will be chosen every month by a panel of board members from the HPCA. The winner will be highlighted on the Historic Park City Utah (HPCU) blog and will work with the HPCA to create a blog post that tells what Historic Park City means to them.
They will also win a $50 gift card to be used at several local restaurants, shops, galleries, spas and lodging areas as a token of gratitude for sharing their content and participating in the contest.
"The photos will be judged by overall impression," said Lawson. "One month it could be something that is really silly, and the next month it could be something historic."
The judges are simply looking for people to help tell the Historic Park City story and explain what it means to them, Lawson said. They will also be sharing several images on the Facebook page every two weeks as highlights.
In order to participate, residents can visit the Historic Park City website at www.historicparkcityutah.com or the official Facebook page at facebook.com/HistoricParkCityUtah. There is an application on the Facebook page where visitors can review the gallery of photos that have been submitted.
"I think we have had close to 60 photos submitted so far," said Lawson. "It is amazing to see the content that is created from Park City."
Those photos can be viewed by searching "Park City" on Instagram. Residents can also submit photos by uploading them to Twitter or Instagram and using the hashtag #HistoricPC.
"It is so inspiring to see how talented everyone is," said Lawson. "We just want to grant the opportunity to share what is going on out there.
