Powdr announces recreational grant program

Powdr, "a leading mountain resort owner and active lifestyle company" and the owner of Park City Mountain Resort, announced its "Protect Your Playground" grant program funding individuals with ideas to protect their local environments. According to the release, Powdr has committed $40,000 across its nine mountain resorts and four Woodward locations in grant funds for the first year.

"Protect Your Playground" applicants can request up to $2,500 in funding. The grants are reserved for individuals no money will be rewarded to nonprofits or corporations. Applications must be submitted by Feb. 21 at www.protectyourplayground.org.

Habitat's 12 Days of Gift Wrapping

The Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, along with the Mountain Life Church of Park City, will provide 12 days of gift wrapping on Dec. 13-14 and from Dec. 18-24. Gift wrappers will be in front of the Walmart Super Center at Kimball Junction during designated hours to help with holiday wrapping needs.

According to the release, the suggested donation varies depending on the size of the package, and the proceeds will benefit Habitat's affordable housing programs. Santa rides down Town Lift on Saturday

Park City Mountain Resort has announced its Golden Anniversary celebration continues with the return of its traditional holiday celebrations, including one as old as the resort itself. On Saturday, Dec. 14, Santa and his reindeer will descend from the sky onto Town Plaza, on Main Street, via Town Lift.

Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with free hot chocolate and cookies on the plaza. After landing, Santa will take photos and listen to wish lists from young and old who have made his "nice" list. For more information, visit www.visitparkcity.com.
