Business association to hold meeting

The Kimball Junction Business Association is holding a meeting for members featuring guest speaker Bill Humbert. According to a newsletter, Humbert, a professional speaker, will be discussing how to deal with difficult people — whether they’re customers, guests or staff. The meeting will be held March 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive. Attendance is free for members, who are asked to RSVP to admin@kimballjunction.org . Local roofing company wins award

IronClad Exteriors, Inc., a Park City roofing company, has been given a 2015 Quality Asphalt Roofing Case Study Award, a national honor given by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. According to a press release, IronClad Exteriors received the Silver Award for its work on the roof at Grand Lodge at Deer Valley Resort. The asphalt roof is designed to keep heat inside the attic and to prevent dangerous icicles from forming. A judge in the competition said that IronClad Exteriors incorporated a "beautiful use of dimensional shingles" as well as a "terrific explanation of the job and why asphalt is the best choice," according to the release.

RAMP Sports patents molding technology

RAMP Sports, a local ski equipment manufacturer, has been given a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its ski and snowboard molding process. According to a press release, the molding technology allows RAMP Sports to be more creative in its manufacturing process, "instantly changing materials and dimensions, decreasing turnaround time and enabling faster product advancement." Mike Kilchenstein, President and CEO of RAMP Sports, said the technology is represents a large leap forward. "We can literally have our team testing skis and snowboards on the mountain in the morning and refining their designs in the afternoon," he said in the release.
