Summer is right around the corner for local students and continuing to read is a key component of staying engaged during summer. To support the value of summer reading, McDonald's, the Utah Governor's Commission on Literacy and the Utah State Library have teamed to host a summer reading kickoff at participating Utah McDonald's statewide on Saturday, May 18. The Park City McDonald's located at 6450 N Landmark Drive and 123 other restaurants in Utah, western Wyoming and eastern Nevada, have 100 free age-appropriate books from Scholastic provided by McDonald's to distribute to the first 100 children at each location from 1 – 4 p.m., with hopes to place 12,400 books in the hands of young readers.
