Treasure Mountain Junior High and Park City High School each offer a class for native Spanish-speaking students called Heritage Language. According to Laura Bechdel, the class' instructor, the junior high and the high school classes came together to put on a bake sale on Friday, Dec. 20, benefiting the People's Health Clinic and supporting uninsured residents of Summit and Wasatch counties. The students made traditional cultural dishes like chicken tamales and champurrado, as well as cupcakes, and raised over $500 for the clinic. Bechdel said they would like to thank The Market for their support and the community members who bought food and donated.
