Park City Education Foundation fundraising

The Park City Education Foundation is asking parents to donate $1 each day of the school year, adding up to a total of $180. According to Jen Billow, PCEF Events & Marketing Manager, $1 million can be raised that way, with the proceeds going to more than 60 programs, "touching 95 percent of the student body in the district."

Park City Board of Education policy committee

The Park City Board of Education is looking for two residents to participate on the district’s policy committee, according to the district’s website, pcschools.us.

Those interested are directed to provide their name, contact information and a brief reason why they’re interested in serving on the committee to Lorie Pearce, at lpearce@pcschools.us by Aug. 22. Meetings are held on the second Wednesdays of each month, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the website.

North Summit athlete registration

The North Summit School District is offering online registration for all its athletes, according to the district’s website, nsummit.org. Athletes and their parents can sign on to registermyathlete.com and sign consent forms and pay fees, among other tasks. Additionally, the district urges parents and athletes to offer feedback as they use the new website.

"This method is a more reliable and economical alternative to traditional paperwork in the athletics department," the district states on its website.

South Summit Elementary back-to-school

South Summit Elementary School is using the first two days of school, Aug. 26 and Aug. 27, as individual assessment days for students, according to the district’s website, ssummit.k12.ut.us. Letters were sent to parents in May assigning a 30-minute session time to each student and his or her parents. Students will also use the time as an "open house" to meet their teachers and familiarize themselves with their classrooms.
