PCHS Advanced Percussion Studio

The Park City High School Advanced Percussion Studio has been invited to perform at the 2015 Music For All Festival, set to be held March 12 through March 14 in Indianapolis. According to a press release, the event, hosted by Yamaha, is the most prestigious school music ensemble festival in the country. The PCHS percussion group was one of 40 high school and middle school bands in the nation to be invited.

The percussion group, the 2014 state champions in the Utah Percussive Arts Society large ensemble and chamber ensemble categories, will play a concert at the event, as well as participate in classes and other activities, according to the release.

PCSD adult education

The Park City School District Adult Education program is back again this year. According to the school district's website, pcschools.us, the program is for people 18 or older who didn't finish high school. School takes place Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Park City Learning Center, 2400 Kearns Blvd. The program, which also offers online classes after a student has attended 12 hours in person, costs $40. Registration is on Mondays.

Trailside Elementary drop-off procedures

Trailside Elementary School is reminding parents of its drop-off and pick-up procedures. According to the school's newsletter, dropping students off or picking them up in the bus zones is prohibited.


Other reminders include parents needing to stay in their vehicles when they drop off their children and not parking their vehicles in the drop-off line.
