Education foundation Phone-A-Thon

The Park City Education Foundation has wrapped up its Beat the Call campaign and will conclude its efforts to get parent donations with its annual Phone-A-Thon on Oct. 21 and Oct. 22. According to Jen Billow, the foundation’s event and marketing manager, the Phone-A-Thon is the last chance for parents to donate for the rest of the year. The foundation is urging parents to donate $1 for each day of school — for a total of $180 — but any amount of money is accepted. Parents who haven’t yet donated will be getting a call asking them to do so during the Phone-A-Thon.

Student painting class

Students ages 6 to 12 are invited to a painting class hosted by The Paint Mixer held Oct. 16 and Oct. 17. According to a press release, the two-day course is taught by a professional instructor and is designed to help students improve their painting skills in a fun environment. The class will be held both days from 9 a.m. to noon, at 738 Main Street. For more information or to register, visit thepaintmixer.com.

North Summit High movie contest

North Summit High School is holding a Halloween movie contest for students. According to the district’s website, nsummit.org, participants can submit a homemade movie that is at least five minutes long. Anyone can appear in the movie, as long as it is school-appropriate. Submissions must be made by Oct. 30, and the top two will be shown at the Halloween assembly. For more information, contact the North Summit High School office, at 435-336-5656.
