Beatrice Peck, a corporate attorney, said during an interview with the County Council on Dec. 5 that she missed the first call for applications, but wanted to apply as she feels it's a good time in her career to serve on the Planning Commission.
"I've been watching for the opportunity, but I somehow missed the first go-around for applications," Peck said. "I feel like I have a good 24 years of experience under my belt, and that I'm fairly seasoned. It's a position that can sometimes be a lot of pressure and controversy, and that doesn't bother me."
Others that applied include Jeff Riehl, Mike Wong, Wendy Macuga, Mike Barnes, Gary Peacock and Josh Mann.
The County Council also interviewed three people for two positions on the Snyderville Basin Special Recreation Service District Administrative Control Board: Brian Guyer, who was reapplying, Michael Flaherty and Cathy Kahlow.
The council's selections for both boards will be announced at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the County Council meeting at the Sheldon Richins Building, located at 1885 West Ute Boulevard.
