As of Monday, Summit County will be accepting applications for the RAP Cultural, Restaurant and Special Events Grants, and those interested will have until the end of the month to apply.
To be eligible for the Cultural Grant, an organization must be a 501(c)(3) and registered either with the State of Utah or a municipal or county cultural council, such as the Summit County/Park City Arts Council. The range of projects considered for the grant includes arts education, dance, history, music, visual arts, theatre, folk arts and more.
Summit County Assistant Manager Anita Lewis said non-profits applying for the Cultural Grant must be operational for at least three years. If an organization is newer than three years, it is eligible to apply through the Summit County/Park City Arts Council.
Applicants of the Restaurant Grant must be a governmental entity, governmental subdivision or non-profit and utilize the funds for bringing in new tourism, preferably overnight, from outside the county.
Finally, applicants of the Special Events Grant must "strive to enhance the business and social community of Park City and the greater Summit County area," according to a Summit County release. Lewis said those applications are handled through the Park City Chamber Bureau.
All three grant applications can be found online at summitcounty.org/services/grants.php or can be found at the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville, the Kimball Junction Library or the Kamas Library.
The deadline to apply is Monday, Mar. 31, by noon for in-person applications or, if sent by mail, postmarked no later than Mar. 28. The grant committee will make its recommendations to the Summit County Council by the end of June, and recipients will have one year to utilize grant funds.
