Between Thursday, May 1, and Monday, May 5, the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to numerous cases including the following:

Deputies responded to a report of a male who had been threatening someone near Kimball Junction on May 1. The man refused to follow an order of arrest and the deputy attempted to place him in handcuffs, at which point the man fought with him. He was eventually taken to the ground and taken into custody for resisting arrest.

Three juvenile boys in South Summit allegedly pulled a prank on May 1 by making it appear that one of them had been abducted. An unopened beer was found in one of the boy's pockets and he was released to his mother and referred to Juvenile Court.

A deputy observed two intoxicated males walk into a Kimball Junction business on May 1. An employee stated that one of the men had taken and concealed a tobacco product and upon contact, one man was found to have a warrant for his arrest. Both were arrested and booked into jail.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on Interstate 80 on May 2 for non-returning registration. During a canine search of the vehicle, 12.5 pounds of marijuana were discovered in a hidden compartment. Both the driver and passenger were arrested on drug possession charges.

A road bicycle was reported stolen from the back porch of a Snyderville Basin residence on May 2. The complainant stated she had hung up the bike after returning from a ride when it was later stolen. There was no suspect information at the time of the report.

Deputies responded to a Basin residence on May 2 on a report of an aggravated assault. The suspect, a male, had left the scene when deputies arrived, but the victim, a female, stated she was punched in the face and choked. She had tried to call 911 but he had taken the phone from her, she said. An attempt to locate was put out on the male suspect and he was later located.

A male suspect allegedly stole several checks on May 2 from a woman's apartment in the Basin and cashed them to himself in Salt Lake.

A male driver was stopped for a lane travel violation in the Basin on May 2 and showed signs of impairment. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence with a 0.131 blood-alcohol content.

Two male individuals were arrested on marijuana possession charges during separate traffic stops for lane travel violations on I-80 on May 3.

One individual was arrested and could face child abuse/abandonment charges after being found unconscious on a hotel bathroom floor on May 3, and allegedly assaulted a child earlier.
