Summit County Library Book Sale
The Summit County Library will hold its annual Memorial Day Used Book Sale in the auditorium of the Kimball Junction branch this weekend. Residents can still donate used books at the Kimball Junction Library.
Members of the Friends of the Summit County Libraries can get access to a sneak preview of the sale on Thursday, May 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can either join as members or renew membership that night for $10.
The public sale will run from Friday, May 23, to Sunday, May 25, with hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Compton said there will be a large selection of books for adults and children, with hardcovers $1 and paperbacks 50 cents. DVDs and audio books will also be available.
Those who bring an old Friends of the Summit County Libraries bag can fill it with materials for $15, while those who buy a new bag can fill it for $18.
A final bargain blow-out will be held on Monday, May 26, from noon to 5 p.m. Individuals who bring their own bag can fill it with books for $5.

Coalville Memorial Day ceremony
Summit County will host a Memorial Day program on May 26 at 11 a.m. in front of the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville where veterans past and present will be honored.
An unveiling of a new veterans monument will also take place during the event, which is set to be placed in the front lawn of the Courthouse. The Summit County Sheriff's Office will present military honors with a 21-gun salute and an additional ceremony will be held at Coalville's cemetery.
Free red, white and blue ribbons will be provided for veterans and yellow ribbons will be provided to those with past or present family members in the military.
