Coalville veterans memorial ceremony
Summit County will host a Memorial Day program on May 26 at 11 a.m. in front of the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville where veterans past and present will be honored.
An unveiling of a new veterans monument will also take place during the event, which is set to be placed in the front lawn of the Courthouse. The Summit County Sheriff's Office will present military honors with a 21-gun salute and an additional ceremony will be held at Coalville's cemetery.
Free red, white and blue ribbons will be provided for veterans and yellow ribbons will be provided to those with past or present family members in the military.

Summit County Library Book Sale
The Summit County Library will hold its annual Memorial Day Used Book Sale in the auditorium of the Kimball Junction branch this weekend. The sale began this Thursday.
The public sale will run through Monday, May 26, with hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. Compton said there will be a large selection of books for adults and children, with hardcover books priced at $1 and paperbacks at 50 cents. DVDs and audio books will also be available.
Those who bring old Friends of the Summit County Libraries bags can fill them with materials for $15, while those who buy a new bag can fill it for $18.
A final bargain blow-out will be held on Monday, May 26, from noon to 5 p.m. Individuals who bring their own bag can fill it with books for $5.

Input sought on Toll Canyon management
Utah Open Lands, in conjunction with Basin Recreation, will host an open house where community members can offer input on the future management of the recently acquired Toll Canyon Open Space, 781 acres located south of the Weilenmann School of Discovery.
