After earning its first win of the season against Delta at home on Sept. 7, the Park City High School football team ended its 2012 preseason with a thud in Nephi.

The Juab Wasps throttled the Miners 42-13 Friday night, dropping Park City's preseason record to 1-4. The Wasps jumped out a commanding 30-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in the rout over Park City.

Juab quarterback Jeff Rowley had a standout evening, accounting for four touchdowns through the air. Wasp receiver Doc Gee had 124 yards and two touchdown receptions on four catches.

Park City was able to get on the board in the fourth quarter when sophomore quarterback Ian Moritz connected with junior receiver Alec Wing for two touchdowns. Moritz was 7-for-18 for 144 yards. Wing had a majority of those yards, hauling in 106 yards on four receptions.

Juab stifled the Park City running game, holding senior running back Alex Boyle to just 26 yards on 17 carries. Trace Jorgensen (14 tackles) and Konnor Andersen (10 tackles) led the way defensively for the Miners.

With its preseason schedule now in the rear-view mirror, Park City faces Region 10 rival Judge Memorial on the road Friday in Salt Lake City. The 2-3 Bulldogs are paced offensively by quarterback Kaden Elliss, who has thrown for six touchdowns and leads the team in rushing (169 yards, three touchdowns).

Each team will be playing in its first region game of the season. Kickoff at Judge Memorial High School is slated for 7 p.m.
