Three Park City winter athletes are strutting their stuff this weekend at the Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships in Breckenridge, Colo.

Joss Christensen, Alex Schlopy and Sage Kotsenburg have been invited to compete against the world's best freeski and snowboard athletes as the five-day Dew Tour comes to a climax Saturday and Sunday. Several of the events are being broadcast by NBC and NBC Sports Network (see schedule below).

Christensen, who will celebrate his 21st birthday next Thursday, is scheduled to compete in the men's freeski slopestyle semifinal beginning at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. Known as a well-rounded skier, Christensen also entered the men's freeski superpipe semifinal Thursday but was not among the 10 skiers to advance to Friday's final.

Schlopy, 20, who owns the first world championship gold medal ever awarded in slopestyle skiing, will join Christensen in the men's freeski slopestyle semifinal Saturday afternoon. Schlopy is the son of former U.S. Ski Team speed skier Holly Flanders.

If Schlopy and/or Christensen qualify for the finals, they will compete again Sunday at 11 a.m.

Kotsenburg, 19, a snowboarder who finished first in total points in men's slopestyle on the 2009-2010 Dew Tour, just returned from Beijing, China, where he finished fifth on a slopestyle course constructed inside the iconic Birds Nest stadium built for the 2008 Olympics.

Competing against 30 other riders in Wednesday's Dew Tour slopestyle semifinal round, Kotsenburg finished ninth to earn a spot in the finals, which are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday. Kotsenburg has also been invited to compete in the first-ever Dew Tour big air event, which will take place on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Some of the most familiar names in snowboarding are entered in the men's and women's superpipe competition, which will be held in Breckenridge's 602-foot long 'pipe. Leading the qualifiers for the men's finals (Sunday) are Scotty Lago, Shaun White, Greg Bretz and Louie Vito. The top qualifiers for the women's finals (Saturday) are Brita Sigourney, Maddie Bowman, Roz Groenewoud and Keltie Hansen.
