The Park City Mountain Resort will see many of freeskiing and snowboarding's biggest stars this week win the U.S. Grand Prix rolls into town from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2.

The sports' biggest names, including Louie Vito, Scotty Lago Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, and Park City's own Alex Schlopy will be in attendance for halfpipe competitions on the Eagle Superpipe.

Vito, Teter, Clark, Bleiler and others will participate in the snowboard events, with qualifying on Wednesday and the finals on Friday.

Schlopy and the other skiers will have their qualifying event on Thursday, with the finals on Saturday.

The finals were supposed to have been held on Dec. 21 and 22, but event officials postponed them until Feb. 1 and 2 in order to ensure optimal conditions for the athletes.

In the finals, the competitors will be competing for FIS World Cup points to help them qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Lago took third place in the snowboard halfpipe competition at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, while Teter won silver in the women's competition and Clark earned bronze.

Schlopy and his fellow skiers will be competing for a chance to take part in the first-ever Olympic ski halfpipe event in Sochi.

A big air competition on Wednesday night will take place at 3 Kings Park, right next to the superpipe.

All of the week's events are free to spectators, with easy access to the viewing areas from the First Time lift-level parking lot.

The Grand Prix tour started at Copper Mountain in Colorado Jan. 7 to Jan. 12 and concludes at Canyons Resort in Park City Feb. 25 to March 2.

This is the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix's 17th year, making it the longest-running domestic tour. This is the first year it's on the FIS World Cup tour.
