In three days of racing in Bogus Basin, Idaho, Feb. 16-18, the Park City Ski Team (PCST) men came away winners at the Trudi Bolinder Memorial Race, placing first in all three super G races and in the giant slalom race.
The PCST had five of the top 10 finishers in Saturday's super G, with Riley Greene coming in first with a time of 1:12.31 and Hayes Graham in second with a time of 1:12.55. Sun Valley's Parker Scott finished third in 1:12.67. Park City's Bridger Clifford finished just off the podium with a time of 1:12.80, while teammates Riley Peek and Charles Lowth also finished strong.
Bridger Clifford was the winner of the first of two super G races on Sunday, with a time of 1:16.55. Sun Valley's Scott (1:17.02) finished second, with Park City's Riley Greene (1:17.06) in third. PCST racers Ian Griffith, Charles Lowth and Matthew Stencel took ninth, 11th and 12th places respectively.
Greene then came back in the afternoon to win the second super G race of the day with a time of 1:14.53. Clifford (1:15.00) was second, and Sun Valley's William Harder (1:15.30) was third. PCST's Matthew Stencel finished in fourth place with a time of 1:15.61.
On Monday, Park City's Hayes Graham (1:52.65) had the fastest combined time of the day in the giant slalom. Sun Valley's Scott (1:53.39) placed second; Riley Peek of Park City (1:53.68) placed third. Clifford and Griffith continued their strong performances of the weekend, finishing in fifth and sixth places overall.
"The guys have been pushing each other all year and these results show that they are all strong and can win races," said men's coach Chad Wolk.
The next speed competitions will be in Schweitzer, Idaho, at the Western Region Junior Championships March 5-10.
