What: James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour
Where: Riverhorse on Main, 540 Main St.
When: 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3
Seth Adams, executive chef and co-owner of Riverhorse on Main, would like to invite the public to the restaurant for a special night of cocktails, appetizers and dinner created by renowned chefs from around the country.
The James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour will take up residence at Riverhorse on Main on Saturday, Nov. 3. The evening’s events, which are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., will feature dishes prepared by the chefs (See accompanying list), and serve as a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation, Adams said.
The James Beard Foundation is a nonprofit that nurtures and honors America’s diverse culinary heritage through programs and scholarships that have and continue to educate and inspire established and upcoming professional chefs and food enthusiasts, he said.
“It’s an honor and privilege to be part of the James Beard Foundation,” said Adams. “There are not a lot of events and charities geared to our industry. So this is something fun and special.”
All of the participating chefs are associated with the James Beard House, the foundation’s performance space located in New York’s Greenwich Village.
The Park City event will start with cocktails and the chefs will craft their own appetizers.
“We won’t all be back in the kitchen all night,” Adams said. “We will come out and mingle with the guests while they enjoy the appetizers and the seated main course dinner.”
During the dinner, each chef will describe the dishes to the diners.
“I’m sure we’ll get some great wines that will pair with the food as well,” Adams said.
The James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour stops at more than 20 cities in the United States each year.
“It gives our guests a taste of what it’s like to dine at the James Beard House,” Adams said. “Combining such a wide range of skills and expertise will make for an unforgettable dining experience here in Park City.”
Riverhorse on Main, throughout the years, has become a culinary stop for fine-dining enthusiasts. It has continued to earn Forbes Four Star and AAA Four Diamond recognition and was named Open Table’s Diner’s Choice winner in 2016. In addition, the restaurant was the first in Park City to receive the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA) Award for Excellence in 1995.
Adams said hosting the James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour in October fit with the local schedule.
“It’s a great evening during the part of the year where there isn’t a lot happening in Park City,” he said. “This is one for foodies and chefs.”
