Park Record’s inaugural Bestminster Dog Show winners announced

The Park Record Bestminster Dog Show, a collaboration with Jeremy Ranch Golf and Country Club, made its debut at the club Saturday.

Dog lovers with and without dogs gathered at the country club between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to watch and participate in an array of contests, browse an array of canine-centric booths and listen to live music performed by local rock, funk and soul band Sundog Sky.

The first contest, which was for small dogs under 16 inches tall, started at 11:30 a.m.

The categories and winners are as follows:

Best Costume

First — Violet Mae, owner Stephanie Soules
Second — Trevor and Silent Anthony, owner Linda Smaligo
Third — Remi, owner Allie Bowers

Best Kid Handler

First — Ruby, owner The Hollands
