The Utah Symphony Chorus will hold auditions on April 23 and 24 at the Utah Opera production studios, 336 N. 400 West in Salt Lake City. Singers should have significant choral and vocal performance experience. The chorus will perform Sept. 28 and 29 in Berlioz’s "Damnation of Faust" and on Feb. 7 and 8 in Mozart’s Mass in C. Clothing Donations Needed for Upcoming Fundraiser
U-SA Cares for Life, a nonprofit organization based in West Jordan, seeks donations of slightly used apparel and accessories, including handbags, scarves, shoes, boots, hats and jewelry and any women’s clothing for a fundraiser called "My Sista’s Closet" that will be held Saturday, June 1, from noon until 6 p.m. at Little Miner’s Montessori School, 1091 Beehive Dr. The fundraiser will help support destitute children and abandoned babies in South Africa. The items can be dropped off at Little Miner’s Montessori School starting April 29 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For more information, call Brigitte Eilliot (435) 655-5163.
Sunrise Over Africa Fundraiser
Hank Louis and Gigaplex Design will host a Sunrise Over Africa fundraiser and silent auction for the Ssejinja Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works with community members to help Uganda’s orphaned children, at 1155 Quarry Mountain Lane, on Saturday, April 20, from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. The night will feature dancing with music provided by African Dance Group, a silent auction. Locals Free Day at the Park City Museum
The Park City Museum, 528 Main St., will host a free day for locals on Tuesday, April 23. Park City and Summit County residents will be able to experience the museum’s hands-on exhibit, "Eat Well, Play Well." The display is designed to teach children and their families the importance of good eating habits and exercising. For more information, visit http://www.parkcityhistory.org .
‘Reefer Madness: The Musical’ at the Egyptian Theatre
The Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., will continue Dark Horse Company Theatre’s "Reefer Madness: The Musical" from April 25 through April 28. Curtain for April 25 through 27, is 8 p.m. Curtain for April 28 is 6 p.m. "Reefer Madness: The Musical" is based on the 1936 propaganda film, "Reefer Madness," which warned of the misinformed horrors of marijuana in society. Tickets range from $25 to $44 and are available by visiting http://www.parkcityshows.com.
