New Year’s Eve at Canyons
Canyons Resort will celebrate New Year’s Eve all day on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The events will include Jibbin’ for Juniors at 9 a.m. and live music in the Resort Village beginning at 11 a.m. The music will continue throughout the afternoon. The Avalanche Rescue Dogs will make an appearance at 4:30 p.m. and the George T. Gregory Band will play at 5 p.m. Canyons’ torchlight parade will begin at 7 p.m. and fireworks will start around at 7:30 p.m. From 7:30 p.m. until after midnight, Canyons will host a New Year’s Eve party with a dinner buffet, performers and a DJ. The Who Show: ‘Tommy’ at the Egyptian Theatre
The Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., will present The Who Show’s "Tommy" through Saturday, Jan. 3. The performances will begin at 8 p.m. "Tommy" is the critically acclaimed 1969 concept album by The Who and The Who Show will perform the album in its entirety. Park City Film Series Special Screenings: ‘The Interview’
The Park City Film Series will screen Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s "The Interview," rated R, at the Prospector Theater, 2175 Sidewinder Dr., on Thursday, Jan. 1, at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Jan 4, at 8 p.m. This comedy is about a duo who run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight." When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip to Pyongyang into an assassination mission.
