New Year’s Eve at Canyons

Canyons Resort will celebrate New Year’s Eve all day on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The events will include Jibbin’ for Juniors at 9 a.m. and live music in the Resort Village beginning at 11 a.m. The music will continue throughout the afternoon. The Avalanche Rescue Dogs will make an appearance at 4:30 p.m. and the George T. Gregory Band will play at 5 p.m. Canyons’ torchlight parade will begin at 7 p.m. and fireworks will start around at 7:30 p.m. From 7:30 p.m. until after midnight, Canyons will host a New Year’s Eve party with a dinner buffet, performers and a DJ. The Who Show: ‘Tommy’ at the Egyptian Theatre

The Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., will present The Who Show’s "Tommy" through Saturday, Jan. 3. The performances will begin at 8 p.m. "Tommy" is the critically acclaimed 1969 concept album by The Who and The Who Show will perform the album in its entirety. Park City Film Series Special Screenings: ‘The Interview’

The Park City Film Series will screen Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s "The Interview," rated R, at the Prospector Theater, 2175 Sidewinder Dr., on Thursday, Jan. 1, at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Jan 4, at 8 p.m. This comedy is about a duo who run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight." When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip to Pyongyang into an assassination mission. First Friday Opening at Artique

Artique Boutique, 283 Main St. in Kamas, will host Mary Christa Smith of Summit County Powerworks for its First Friday opening on Jan. 2.
